AGON and the NBA celebrated the Grand Opening of the world's first NBA-branded and basketball-themed NBA Playzone. The 1,500 square metre facility located in a high-end shopping centre in the trendy Xintiandi district represents the first foray of the NBA’s Branded Attractions business division into a bricks and mortar presence in China. Agon was retained by the NBA in a multi-location, multi-year technical services and operations contract to open and operate the facilities.

NBA Playzone Shanghai includes 10 signature elements including a play structure known as the Mascot Training Ground, Rookie Challenge soft play area for toddlers, In the Paint creative area, Halftime Live interactive space, the Arena basketball court, Dunk Zone trampolines, Measure Ups, party rooms, retail shop, and snack bar. Future sites are being contemplated in other first tier cities in China.
